Having supported the call to action on the Attack on Nature with a page in the FT in November, Business Declares are supporting the Save Our Wild Isles campaign - a series of short films (30 mins) produced by RSPB, WWF, National Trust and Silverback Films aimed towards business, which explore how business depends on nature and the actions they can start taking to make a difference.
As Business Declares, we invite you to our own screening online of two of Save Our Wild Isles’ business films: The Business of Nature and Banking on a Wilder Tomorrow, giving you the chance to be the first to see these films, and discuss with other peers actions you can take as a business.
This Save Our Wild Isles film, “Banking on a Wilder Tomorrow” focuses on finance and what we need to do urgently to address the biodiversity crisis. We will discuss how the biodiversity crisis is bad for business, but how, by taking action, businesses can help turn the tide for nature and turn nature recovery into a crucial business opportunity – and how important it is to put nature alongside climate in all decision making processes. The screening of the film will be followed by group discussions on sharing action we can take as businesses.
So often we focus on climate change targets first, but Business Declares has always been about accelerating action on the climate and ecological emergency. In the UK, we are one of the most nature depleted countries in the world. However, we do not always know what we can do for nature as a business, and this event is an opportunity to get practical ideas and discuss these with other members.
