True and Fair Accounts – Including sustainability in your financial statements

Business Declares are proud to support True & Fair - a campaign by Social Value International to encourage and empower company directors to include their organisations’ sustainability reporting in their annual company accounts. This has been catalysed by a new legal opinion, commissioned by SVI, stating that UK company directors have a positive duty to consider whether and how to reflect relevant sustainability issues in their financial statements to present a true and fair view of their companies’ financial positions (= a company’s assets, liabilities, financial position and profit and loss).

This Knowledge Xchange event is led by Sara Williams OBE and Sam Baker, and will delve into the campaign, how members can join, ways for UK company directors to include sustainability in their financial statements, and the campaign’s next steps - including a working group convened by Social Value International, to develop an approach to make the most of this new ruling.
