Letters to the Earth is a creative campaign calling on people around the world to write and share a Letter in response to the planetary emergency. Thousands have taken part, from children to leading figures such as Yoko Ono and Vivienne Westwood. Letters have been amplified in public art works, books, media campaigns and at global climate conferences. Business Declares joined the campaign in 2021 and amplified the letters of CEOs in the run up to COP26, including letters from Steve Waygood (Aviva) and Guy Singh-Watson (Riverford).
Letter to the Earth is now inviting members of Business Declares to take part in their letter writing workshops. Book their workshop to guide your group to connect with nature, express themselves in response to the climate and nature crisis and help them form a deeper sense of community, purpose, and vision for the future. After the workshop the campaign team offers editorial support so that your Letters can be amplified in the public domain to inspire others with your creative visions and generate more public engagement on the issue.
‘Writing the letter was a powerful process of considering what else I can actually do to make a difference’
Amanda Powell-Smith, CEO Forster Communications
‘It has impacted the way I talk about the bigger context more openly’
Tom Greenwood, CEO Wholegrain Digital
